One of the keys to a successful, long lasting relationship, is to fight. At least according to recent research. I mean there are obviously other factors that contribute to a good relationship, from mutual respect, attraction, keeping things fresh and exciting, putting in effort into yourself and the relationship…but recent reports are saying that fighting, only if you communicate effectively,...

AND THE WINNER OF THIS YEAR’S ROMANCE BEAT AWARD FOR THE MOST ROMANTIC MOVIE GOES TO— Silver Linings Playbook.!!! Whether or not it wins an Oscar, we loved this movie because it really touched our hearts. All of the emotion was right on the surface – Pat Solatano (Bradley Cooper) and his love for life; his love for his parents (Jacki Weaver and Robert DeNiro) and theirs for him, his love for...

We LOVE Doing Good (at Least When it Means Reading Romance)… Beloved ménage writer, Trinity Blacio, and romance publishing maven, Lori Perkins, have teamed up to help victims of Hurricane Sandy and share their love of the unconquerable New York City at the same time. They’ve edited an anthology of romance stories that not only climbs the scale from sweet and cuddly to red hot, but each story reflects a little bit of NYC. Many of the authors are building from their own New York connections or history. From strangers falling for...

Readers of Fifty Shades of Grey know exactly what we’re talking about when they hear the words The Heathman Hotel and Hotel Max. These are the hotels in Portland and Seattle where Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele had countless (well, you could count them, but why bother) romps that are invariably described as sizzling, steamy, saucy, sexy and/or smutty. Well, now these hotels have decided...

Jeffery Self, the actor/writer who played Randy Lemon on 30Rock, is adding another notch to his belt as an author to watch. His new book 50 Shades of Gay is coming out this month from Riverdale/Magnus. His face is familiar to us from his work on Desperate Housewives, 90210, Hot in Cleveland, as well as 30Rock (which just happens to be the show we miss most right now), but this novel will give us something...

LADY EDITH IS GETTING A RAW DEAL AT DOWNTON ABBEY! Enough with the tragic love stories. Here’s a snippet of dialogue from the ongoing mega popular PBS series “Downton Abbey”— Robert: “Poor old Edith. We never seem to talk about her.” Cora: “I’m afraid Edith will be the one taking care of us in our old age.” Robert: “Oh, what a ghastly prospect.” Those of us who follow Downton...

I was once involved with someone who was seemingly a loyal person. We were always together, we got along great, but after a few years, things started to lag. The spark and the romance died, although we still had fun, but he started spending a lot more time on the internet. When it got to the point of me questioning what was going on, he said nothing and that he was just chatting with his friend....

According to MYSINGLEFRIEND.COM, 1 in 5 relationships are started online, and that number is rising. I guess it makes sense now that we are all so connected. From cellphones to tablets to computers at our jobs….connecting with people is nothing more than a click away. It is no surprise that social media has replaced meeting through friends, because with social media a “nothing to lose”...

Not all insane love stories are actually insane, they can be off the cuff, exciting, unconventional and amazing, the way a love story is supposed to be. Today’s story involves Connor Rabinowitz, a heart transplant recipient and Erin Roberts, the donor’s sister….in what she describes as “I didn’t have any words to describe it, it was just this, you know, connection”….Wow. The story starts in 2005, when Erin’s brother, Kellen Roberts, suffered from a head injury. He was an organ donor and...

Recent research has shown that men and women have different views on the height of their partner. According to DailyMail, a woman is happiest when a man towers over her by 8 inches and a man prefers to be just three inches taller than his lady. The study doesn’t seem to mention same sex couples. The study asked 700 men and women their personal preference and through their research they also found that ideal hight for a man is 6 foot 3 and the ideal height for a woman is 5 foot 9. Making me think they were surveying the basketball...
