Yahoo Daily Shot recently interviewed four time Emmy Award winner, Peabody Award winner, Golden Globe winner, and Grammy winner Marlo Thomas. She came on to talk about her newest book “It Ain’t Over … Till It’s Over: Reinventing Your Life — and Realizing Your Dreams — Anytime, at Any Age.” This inspirational new book just hit the shelves, and is an inspiration to women at any age.

In addition to being an amazing author, Marlo Thomas has also been married to talk show host Phil Donahue for over 35 years. When asked the secret to their success, Marlo explained that aside from loving each other and having good chemistry, a couple needs to listen to each other. She then told the audience that for several years she didn’t have time to listen to Phil because she was too busy giving him advice. Then, about 10 years into their marriage, Phil stopped her and said, “Could you just nod? I don’t want any advice. I just want to talk about it.” This realization made Marlo really take a step back and become a better listener not only for Phil, but also for many other relationships in her life.

When asked about her book, Marlo decisively said that her life work is to help women, and she sees the book leading women by example. The book follows 60 inspirational women Marlo met around the country who had completely started over and reinvented themselves. Marlo explained that oftentimes, women look for others to help rescue them, or for someone to teach them how to get out of a bad situation. That’s not the case. Marlo explained that the biggest resource a woman has is what is within her. She has all the strength to really take one day at a time and start from scratch to become the person she always wanted to be.

Amazing feminist Marlo Thomas gives excellent insight not only in her love life, but also in her new book “It Ain’t Over … Till It’s Over: Reinventing Your Life — and Realizing Your Dreams — Anytime, at Any Age.” Get it in bookstores now!
