With the recent news of Charlie Hunnam pulling out of Fifty Shades of Grey:

Universal Pictures and Focus Features announced Saturday that the actor who was to play Christian Grey will depart the project. The studio called it a mutual decision because Hunnam’s preparation time was limited by his television schedule. He stars in the FX series “Sons of Anarchy.”

It’s an abrupt and embarrassing switch for a high-profile film. Fans of E L James‘ erotic best-seller are eagerly awaiting the movie adaptation, which will be directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson.

Dakota Johnson remains in the co-starring role of Anastasia Steele. A replacement will be sought for Hunnam, who last month said he initially turned down the role.

We are forced to wonder why this happened? Was it actually because Charlie Hunnam was too busy shooting his TV show for FX, because with a movie like Fifty Shades, you would expect him to re-arrange his schedule. It is the biggest movie or at least the most talked about movie happening right now. Or was it on the studio side of things based on backlash his casting generated from the die hard Fifty Shades of Grey Fans.

I guess we will never know, but we can wait anxiously to see who they will be casting as Christian Grey. The anticipation and excitement is officially back on!!
