We’ll have to wait for previews to begin on Aug. 24-Sept. 19 at the Richard Rodgers Theater on Broadway, but it may be worth it.

Director David Leveaux has cast Orlando Bloom and Condola Rashad to star in the latest modern revival version of Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet.”

Bloom is best known for his role as Legolas Greenleaf in “Lord of the Rings” and Condola Rashad, daughter of Phylicia (of “Cosby Show” TV fame) and Ahmad Rashad, was a Tony nominee for “Stick Fly.”

Leveaux is quoted as saying “The two actors I wanted to be together producing sparks just happened to be those two and I followed my nose in casting the families.” He decided to make the Capulets all black and the Montagues all white to reflect real life.

Though casting is still not complete, we know that Jayne Houdyshell will play the Nurse and Joe Morton will be Lord Capulet.
