On the evening of Thursday, February 26, 2015, V-Day Mount Sinai performed their annual production of Eve Ensler’s groundbreaking episodic play, The Vagina Monologues. The Monologues, originally a one-woman show, speaks to the challenges and wonders of womanhood and femininity, putting into words the thoughts that many women are afraid to express out loud, many of which center on the vagina. Medical and graduate students, doctors and staff at the Ichan School of Medicine at Mount Sinai presented their audience with a stunning tribute to Ms. Ensler’s work, paying homage to the script of 1996 and infusing their show with small personal touches, such as the backdrop of iconic New York landmarks. All proceeds of the show, totaling over $7,000, will go to SAVI (Sexual Assualt and Violence Intervention) and Day One, organizations dedicated to stopping violence against women and children in the Greater New York City Area.
