Political reporter Liz thought she was saving herself future heartache when she walked away from Brady…she knows in her heart at the end of the day that if he had to choose, Brady would always choose his campaign and Liz is tired of hiding. As time passes and she tries to move on, she finds that Brady still holds her heart and she will never be able to give it to another no matter how hard she tries. But how do you go back when you have tried to move forward?? Can Liz and Brady ever really be together with so much stacked against them?
I loved this book from start to finish!! After reading the first in the Record series, I wasn’t sure how this one would play out, or even how it would start out for that matter…you are kind of left wondering at the end of book one. With that said, this is a series and the books all go together, they cannot be read as a standalone, so if you haven’t read book one yet, stop reading this review now and go read it.
On the Record, this one is an angst-fueled ride from beginning to end. You can tell based on the writing what will eventually happen but that doesn’t mean the author doesn’t drag your heart through the meat grinder in the process! Liz and Brady spend the majority of this book apart, sparing every time they are in the same room together. They hurt each other more than they love each other in this one and you find yourself wondering how they were ever together in the first place.
All the great side characters are back and just as great. This one, unlike the first, is a love triangle but rest assured it all works out eventually—and you’ll be hooked from the first chapter.
Overall, I loved it and can’t wait to see how it all comes together in the final book!
