With wedding season in full bloom, your weekend itinerary might find itself populated with bridal showers and bachelorette parties, but what about when the big day is finally here? My favorite part of any wedding reception is the first dance shared by the newly wed couple. The floor is empty with the exception of the love that radiates from the beaming couple in a moment of complete magic. The first dance song selection is sure to be a long and thoughtful process and though each dance is unique to its newlyweds, there are bound to be some repeats.

Elizabeth Graves, editor in chief of Martha Stewart Weddings has complied a list of what she believes are the most popular first dance picks and with good reason! In just 3-5 minutes, these talented songwriters have captured the loveliest moments and set them to easy-to-sway music—a recipe for instant classics and perfect for the new husband and wife.

1) “At Last” – Etta James

At last
My love has come along
My lonely days are over
And life is like a song

2) “That’s How Strong my Love Is” – Otis Redding

If I was the sun way up there
I’d go with love most everywhere
I’ll be the moon when the sun goes down
Just to let you know that I’m still around

3) “These Arms of Mine” – Otis Redding

These arms of mine they are burning
Burning from wanting you, these arms of mine
They are wanting, wanting to hold you

4) “No One’s Gonna Love You” – Band of Horses (Drew Barrymore
and Will Kopelman chose this song for their first dance)

But no one is ever gonna love you more than I do
No one’s gonna love you more than I do

5) “You Are The Best Thing” – Ray Lamontagne

Baby, we’ve come a long way, baby
You know, I hope and I pray that you believe me
When I say this love will never fade away

6) “A Sunday Kind of Love” – Etta James

I want a Sunday kind of love
A love to last past Saturday night
And I’d like to know
It’s more than love at first sight
And I want a Sunday kind of love
Oh yeah, yeah

She hopes to one day build a library inside of her apartment and continue her love affair with New York City. Sam also loves sitting on park benches and reading her Nook.
